Proceed With Caution

Valentine's is one of my favorite holidays I think. Not because I'm dating someone *amazing* or because I get showered with presents (although that last one I would never actually object to) but because everywhere you look there is...chocolate! And I really love chocolate. 

I've never had a date on Valentine's Day, in fact, I've only ever been on one date, yep, one date. And it was one date too many for me! Not that it was terrible in and of itself, but it definitely wasn't that enjoyable and I was uncomfortable enough I couldn't even enjoy my delicious crab legs which was by far the worst part. If I can't enjoy my food, whatever I'm doing is not worth it. ;)

But, whether you're looking forward to an evening out on a date or turning it into a Galentine's Day like I am this year, I have some great outfit suggestions. 

Let's talk shoes. Shoes are very important. Especially when they're studded. ;)

If you're not in the mood to play footsy under the table, these studded beauties will discourage any such activities, and then some. ;)

These studs don't need to be worn with a dressy outfit if you don't feel like getting dressed to the nines. 

Skinny jeans, leather jackets, and heels are always a great alternative. Having a fierce look can also potentially discourage suggestions to share dessert...that would be a no.

Of course maybe you want to get dressed up a little bit more. Maybe you're going somewhere fancy to eat. If you're like my friends and me we always joke about tagging along on blind dates (in disguise of course) just in case a distress signal needs to be sent.

The perfect thing for that is a sexy pencil skirt with a zipper on the side (or the front if you're daring)! Why so specific? Well, let's say you're on a blind date. You walk in wearing this, the zipper open at a 'hopeful' length.

If you like what you see and things are going well, you can unzip as sexy high as you please showcasing your Casper white legs that reflect all the romantic lighting.

If things are not going well...

You zip that puppy shut and zip right on out of there!! As politely as possible of course. Just because Cupid was a jerk doesn't mean we have to be. ;)

So, maybe the next time I agree to go on a date I'll put on a studded power pair of heels/boots with an SOS signal on the back of my shirt and give it another go. If I get my own dessert it might just be worth it. ;)
