1 Pair of Black Jeans, 8 Ways
Black skinny jeans are a closet staple for me. I used to have 3 pairs that I wore to death and they were so faded by the time I got rid of them it was pretty embarrassing. I got all of my money's worth out of them, that's for sure!
I recently found a new pair, a shredded pair actually, and I'm loving them! They're comfortable and actually the right length for my short legs which is very difficult to find 95% of the time. This is my second pair of jeans from Articles of Society and I think they are going to continue to find their way into my closet. They're very affordable, very comfortable, and the material is incredibly soft which is probably my favorite part. **I'm very much a texture person in case you haven't already picked up on that.**
I styled my jeans a few different ways, starting with:
White on Black

White on Black
If there's one thing I love it's a white top with blue or black jeans. It's a classic combination and pairing it with silver jewelry, a moto jacket and some kick ass heels kicks it up a notch. Needless to say, I love it!

I just had to post this one because I thought my legs looked good ;) |
Jacket: Kohl's
Top: H&M
Bracelet: TJ Maxx
Shoes: Just Fab
...A Tunic
I love this tunic, the way it moves and flows. I love the neckline and yes, even the lace. Even though that's not usually my kind of thing. If you're not completely sold on wearing leggings out and about having a pair or two of skinny jeans to pair with your longer tops is a great alternative.
Earrings: H&M
Bralette: Forever 21
Tunic: Free People
Booties: Target
...A Blazer
I'm not sure what to call this outfit, maybe dressy casual, maybe a little funky? I'd wear it out to dinner, maybe while taking in an art show, anywhere that my high heels could take me, and these heels are actually pretty comfortable so they could take me pretty far. ;)
Necklace: LuLu's
Blazer: TJ Maxx
Top: Express
Shoes: Calvin Klein
...A Poncho
Do people still wear ponchos? Is that still a thing? Either way, having an article of clothing that is essentially a blanket with arm holes is not a bad thing in my book, especially when the office is always just a little bit too far on the cold side. I love the all over 'neutralness' of this outfit. But the print on the poncho and the over the knee boots still give it some interest.
Earrings: Fashion Bug **Yeah, I know, they're so old!
Poncho: Charlotte Russe
Top: TJ Maxx
Boots: Charles David
...Comfy & Casual
This might be my favorite one. The next time I board a plane I will be wearing this outfit. Remember me saying I'm a texture person? Well, this outfit is like wearing a down pillow. My sweater and my shoes are 2 of the softest items in my closet and if either got damaged I would be devastated. The shoes have this incredibly soft foam and are like walking on marshmallows. The jacket is a super lightweight and soft duster that I picked up about a year ago and I actually keep forgetting I own it. Time to pull it to the front of the closet! Another favorite thing about this look is that it's so easy: sweater, jacket, jeans, sneakers...done.
Jacket: TJ Maxx
Sweater: Free People
Sneakers: Puma
...Off the Shoulder
A bit chilly for this option at the moment, but I love the opportunity to display some cute gold jewelry. All the bling, all the time!
Earrings: Kate Spade
Necklaces: Nordstrom & Wal Mart
Top: Express
Shoes: DSW
Rings from L to R:
1. Tristan Ring
4. A beautiful handmade ring I purchased in Vienna :)
...Black on Black
Honey, if you're tired of the same old t-shirt, swap it out for a leather one. This top is an oldie but a goodie and now that I remembered I still have it I'm trying to think of a place I can wear this get up to because I feel pretty damn good in it. ;)
Earrings: Charming Charlie
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Top: Express
Heels: Calvin Klein
...Flats
Do you have a hard time too finding flats that don't absolutely kill your feet? I *never* found a pair that didn't either give me blisters or rub me absolutely raw by the time I was done wearing them. They were never comfortable and I hated the way my feet in looked in all of them. But then I found these. Regardless of how you may feel about Katy Perry that woman knows her shoes. These flats are so comfortable and well made I'm tempted to buy a back up pair so I always have them. A super casual outfit like this that I would wear to maybe take my nephews and niece to a museum can still look chic by adding a pop of something like these embellished flats. A quick trip to the grocery store or gas station can still be an opportunity to showcase your style. ;)
**Also, again, with the whole texture thing, do yourself a favor and buy this t-shirt. Incredibly soft, it comes in various colors and it's super affordable! You'll thank me later.
Jacket: Kohls
Top: Madewell
Shoes: Katy Perry
So that's that, 1 pair of jeans, 8 ways. If you have a favorite look let me know below! And if you have ideas for other pieces you'd like to see styled in different ways be sure and let me know that too! ;)
Ciao!
I love these looks! They're so fierce... especially that first one. But that comfy one. Hooo boy I would never take it off.
ReplyDeleteAnd since you mentioned ideas for other pieces... I almost text you today because I would LOVE a post on jeans. I have 1 pair of blue jeans that I wear and they're wearing out, and I just want some good flattering jeans that aren't craaazy expensive. If you want to. ;)
ReplyDeleteI will give it a shot! I have the hardest time finding jeans, these were 1 of 14 pairs I tried on.
