Beauty Favorites

Let's talk beauty! My two favorite places to shop for make up are Sephora and Ulta. Between the two I usually prefer Ulta as their rewards are much better than Sephora. With Sephora you can usually use your points for travel size products, etc and with Ulta, they actually have cash value so you can save up and go for a shopping spree that won't cost you as much. ;)

Let's start with some good old skin care. At one point I signed up for the Sephora PLAY subscription boxes and for only $10 a month you got to try 5 travel size products (they have since discontinued Sephora PLAY and are in the process of replacing it with Sephora Favorites). I found several things that I really love including some great skincare products.
The top two moisturizers both did exactly what they were intended to do. I don't like goopy or super heavy products and neither one of them feel into those categories. I tend to get stress related break outs which take FOREVER to heal but I've noticed they tend to heal much better when I have a good moisturizer on hand. I also loved the Vitamin C serum for pretty much the same reasons. I've also never been one for masks but this Dead Sea face mask is one I love. I notice a difference in how my skin looks and feels after using it. It has no strong scents and doesn't get cakey or super dry on my face. It's a very soothing and cool mask which I really like.

Now for the days that your skin still needs a little help with those bothersome blemishes I have several concealers that I absolutely love!
I've never actually used any other green concealer other than this one from Maybelline. It helps a lot in reducing the redness I tend to have in my cheeks as well as when I have breakouts (bonus it's super affordable!). The BareMinerals concealer is one heavy duty concealer! It erases my pores and covers anything underneath, I love it! The one liquid concealer I do like is from Fenty and I use it for my under eye area to help when my insomnia leaves less than pretty bag dark circles under my eyes.

Foundation! I have four full coverage favorites, well more like 3.5! The Huda foundation has a very strong perfumed scent which if it didn't, would make for a full 4 favorites.
During the summer I tend to wear minimal make up and for that reason alone I LOVE the Bye Bye Foundation Tinted Moisturizer. It's just an added bonus that it has SPF 50 which is perfect for someone as pale as me. The only minor downside to the Milani foundation is the slight chemical smell but for the price and the coverage, it's well worth it. The Born this Way foundation has matched my exact skin tone unlike any other foundation I've ever tried. As I've already mentioned, the Huda foundation is great except for the strong perfume smell. I still use it but compared to my other perfume free options, I'm leaning towards not getting another bottle when this one runs out.

Too Faced Born this Way Foundation - $40 (shop Ulta or Sephora)

Of course, if you're going to go through the trouble of putting all of this on your face you'll want to set it with some powder. During the summer especially I like to have my powder on hand to take away that inevitable shine that pops up on my face.
There are lots of different powders and these 3 are some of the ones I've enjoyed using the most. The powders on the left and in the middle have been my 2 favorites to apply all over my foundation and set everything but I tend to go for the translucent more often as the one in the middle is tinted. And that can throw off the color of my foundation. For my under eye area or any other baking I do like the Huda Beauty powder, however, it is perfumed as well and it can be a bit strong. (If only they'd ixnay the scents!)

I've never been able to find a favorite blush so if anyone has a suggestion, please drop a line! I do have some bronzers that I like and those 2 are here!

Of course you have to throw in some fun things and as someone who loves color, I always gravitate towards the bright pops of color!
I love the formula of these melted liquid lipsticks! They last all day and don't dry my lips out like some other lipsticks I've tried. And the variety of colors they have is awesome.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick - $21 (shop Ulta or Sephora)

This is one item I haven't purchased yet but it has been on my wish list for over a year! Jeffree Star Cosmetics has a HUGE and beautiful selection of lipstick colors and this set draws me in every time I see it! Maybe for Christmas this year I'll treat myself. Not only are these lipsticks but they are also safe to use on your eyes which I would love. All those colors!

Alright, if you've stuck with me this far I promise I'm only sharing 3 more things. To finish off this post I'll share my 3 products to finish off my face. :)
I've been a fan of Jaclyn Hill's products for a long time and her make up brush collection is fantastic. This isn't the only foundation brush I own but it is my favorite and the one I use the most. I prefer to apply my foundation with a brush and then go over it with a damp beauty sponge and this one doesn't absorb as much product as some others I've tried, which is great. And of course, my setting spray! I love the scent it has and I love how it really does 'set' everything on my face. If I want my make up to stick ALL day, this stuff makes it happen!

I could go on but I'm stopping for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Ciao!
